I’m in the process of creating a non-partisan ‘Screening at Wastewater Treatment Plants’ presentation and I’m looking for a few real life experiences to incorporate into the talk.
The presentation is geared towards plant level personnel – operations, maintenance, plant managers, supervisors. The talk will be about the various styles of screens available, and their benefits and drawbacks – everything from capture rate to headloss, daily operations interaction to long term maintenance considerations.
The purpose of the exercise is to share information so equipment selection or approval can be done in a fully informed manner. Equipment selection is always a balance of a number of factors: suitability for purpose, capital expenditure, daily operational considerations, short term and long term maintenance concerns.
I’m looking for operations and maintenance personnel to give me some insight into their real work experiences with various types of screening equipment: what they’ve learnt, what they would recommend, and what they would caution others about.
Have you worked with a drum screen, bar screen, perforated plate screen, step screen, inclined auger screen, band screen, or any other type of screen in a wastewater treatment plant? If so, I would like to hear from you. Have pictures or videos? Even better.
Please contact me using the form below, and I will respond with an email. (Comments are moderated, so if you would like to remain anonymous, just say so and it will never appear.)
