Jelcon Equipment Ltd

About Us

There are bigger rep firms out there. Ones that have lots of employees and are located in big cities and have product lists that take up pages and pages. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’re at the wrong place.

Jelcon is a family owned business, located in the district of Sechelt, BC. Don’t know where Sechelt is? Not many people do, and we like to keep it that way because it is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Taking the ferry is the “price we pay to live in paradise”— take a look in the photos section for some scenery photos of the Sunshine Coast and some of the other beautiful places we get to go in Western Canada as part of our “work”.

History

In 1983 Elaine was hired by a company which sold a wide variety of equipment to the Municipal market—mainly chemical feed systems, chemical feed pumps, chlorinators, valves, gates; as well as providing Instrumentation and Control systems. Oh yeah—one of their products was a grinder called “the Muffin Monster”. For the next five years Elaine worked for this company, learning the rep business. And although the “Muffin Monster” wasn’t the only product she sold, it seemed to be the one people remembered best, so gradually Elaine became known as “the Muffin Monster lady”. In 1988 Elaine’s employer decided to close their Western Canada office and concentrate on manufacturing and selling their own line of Loss-In-Weight and Weigh-belt feeders.

Given a choice of working for another rep company, or starting her own, in 1988 Elaine, with husband Jim, started Jelcon Equipment Ltd., and at about the same time they moved from Calgary to the Sunshine Coast.

The mainstay of our business continues to be the Muffin Monster and related products manufactured by JWC Environmental. JWC Environmental is also a family owned business and although MUCH bigger than Jelcon, embodies the same commitment to their customers that Jelcon find so important.

What now?

Today we have over 500 customers with equipment ranging from little Mini Monsters, slightly larger Muffin Monsters, and some pretty scary Macho Monsters, through to the large Auger Monsters and the Fine Screen systems and Screenings Washer Monsters.

We want all our customers & clients—end users & engineers—to feel comfortable phoning us up and letting know how things are going, or just to ask any questions that may come up about the equipment.

For existing equipment, we keep parts inventory in Sechelt, so in many cases can ship parts required out the same day for delivery next day to our customers in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon or NWT.  JWCE offers complete rebuild or core exchange programs.

In addition to the training provided at startup of each piece of equipment, we can organise equipment maintenance seminars in conjunction with JWC Environmental. We provide additional training and new product seminars.

For new projects: JWCE is continually updating their engineering information. We have drawings in .dxf format, and written specifications in .doc.

Each and every one of our customers is important to us, and this is proven by the amount of repeat business we do.

You might find bigger rep firms with more products. But you won’t find one more dedicated to providing equipment that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations.
